Chris Bone will present a watercolor workshop on Saturday March 20th from 9:00 AM- 4:00 PM. The workshop will be held on the second floor of the Cox Visual Arts Building. There is no fee for this workshop but will be limited to 15 participants. Please contact Walter Shroyer at

The Tazewell County Fair is held annually each summer at the fairgrounds near Tazewell Virginia but we are also involved in several other events throughout the year. Those events include pageants, spelling bees and of course the activities surrounding the fair itself such as

    Major Clarence Tatum is the first officer to retire from the Tazewell County’s Sheriff’s Office with over 30 years of continuous time. In 1974, after leaving the military, he came back to Tazewell County going to work for Cedar Bluff Police Department as Chief, for Two years. In fall of 1976 he was hired by the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office. Clarence was a road deputy for a year then became an investigator / detective and Bloodhound handler. Through the years Clarence has worked with three different Sheriff’s; Sheriff Osborne, Sheriff Johnson, and the current Sheriff Caudill. In the campaign year of 1999, Clarence himself ran for Sheriff as an independent, along with four other candidates, being succeeded by Sheriff Caudil...

    Stream will be stocked with 2 – 5lb. Rainbow Trout, tickets are $40.00. Contact Detective Neil Turley @ 988-1161, Detective Tom Reid @ 988-5966 Ext.147 or Harry Nolley @ 988-2451 (Tazewell Moose Lodge) for advance tickets or information.

    All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
